Listening
To the hum High pitched in my head To the plane taking off Crossing my sky To a voice above me One sided conversation Feeling Yucca fries Heavy in my belly The weight of my feet Crossed on the couch The soft from washing flannel Of my shirt Seeing The cat washing his tail Light fade from the sky The ordered mess of Books plants chairs Collected artifacts of life I lie grateful on this couch Not waking or thinking hard Only observing Saturday afternoon

Spending time with Jade
Painting mountains and beach Doing the whole word search So annoying but we did it all Reading her a book Just talking Doing bits of yoga Seeing her do it right After three or four directions Seeing that spine those shoulders Go right into alignment What a thrill Was there ever a softer cheek A snugglier neck Probably my own babies were But I have Jade right now |
