Bittersweet reach out to me Through chain link As I walk by Wild bamboo thrusts From below with Marked belligerence Green tendrils from this Lot of untended flora Put me in mind of Deer ticks who stand at the tip Of a blade of grass To grab at whatever passes by This unruly greenery wields Menace and threat In a way the Orderly hedgerows do not Those well mannered Sentinels of civility Would never disturb Or bother An innocent passerby
